Commis Chef – Immediate start

We are currently looking for a Commis Chef to join our team. The restaurant is an integral part of our exciting new visitor experience in the Walled Garden which is part of the Gordon Castle Estate.

The Job: You will carry out general preparation for the Chefs including basic vegetable prep and assist generally with the day to day running of a busy kitchen.

The Person: The successful candidate must be a strong team player and highly motivated, striving to achieve and deliver high standards at all times.Previous experience in a similar working environment is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours of work: 30 to 40 hours per week

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

 

Junior Sous Chef

Due to expansion, we are currently looking for an ambitious and talented junior sous chef to join our team. The restaurant is an integral part of our exciting new visitor experience in the Walled Garden which is part of the Gordon Castle Estate.

The Job: You will work with the Head Chef to create seasonal and creative menus that will enhance the customer experience. As well as adhering to all HACCP and Food Hygiene regulations, you will also be responsible for the day to day running of our busy kitchen.

The Person: Ideally you will be someone who has proven experience as a Sous Chef, however we welcome applications from an experienced Chef de Partie.

You should be ambitious, disciplined and have passion for real food cooked fresh. The ideal candidate will come from a fresh food background, with knowledge of current food trends. You will have reasonable knowledge of kitchen finance, and be able to keep a cool head under pressure. The successful candidate must be a strong team player, a high achiever and strive to achieve and deliver high standards at all times.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.
